"I mainly work with wood, which remains after the dismantling of old houses. I collect architectural images, color palettes, moods of cities from my travels. It is interesting for me to note how the present day is organically connected with history, the way nature and time change everything around, created by a human: colors fade in the sun, wood darkens, metal oxidizes... I try to establish a connection with time In my works, to capture the moment. Nature and time are the best decorators - you could always lern a lot from them.

Why exactly boxes? Boxes are refillable! It's like a space for the soul - a place where everyone can keep a piece of their memories ".

The gallery presents works from the collections "Invisible Threads" and "Timeless".

"Invisible Threads ... Where are they leading us, what are they reminded of, what are they talking about ...? Since ancient times, embroidery and weaving patterns have absorbed many symbols - they could not only be viewed, but also read ... Each symbol was not accidental and had a certain meaning, being a talisman and a reminder of invisible threads that connect each person with nature and his ancestors ... I decided to transfer these patterns to woodwork, to rethink. After all, every day we "embroider" our life like a one big pattern".

"The theme of the collection of objects / vessels TIMELESS is the utensils of the Russian hut: a jar krynka, a jar kubyshka, a jar krupnik, a cast-iron pot ... Now we could no longer see these objects in the house, they have survived only somewhere in the outback, and more likely in a memory. I decided to transfer this memory to woodwork, rethinking, transforming it into home decor items, as components of deep warmth, comfort and wisdom! My story is some kind of steps, steps from the beginning. We go up the steps of history, but at the same time we keep and remember our origins. The beginning is not emptiness, it is a form, it is a utensil, filling it with support and nourishment of life. The shape of the steps, like the annual rings of the tree, is literally reflected in the design elements.

The tree with a "history" is used in the works: it remains after the dismantling of old houses. Its outwardly imperfection fascinates ... There is a kind of magic in this that reveals the inner essence of things". 

The collection was presented in November 2019 at the Tryn * Trava / Contemporary Russian Style exhibition at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Moscow.
